I think people like the porch because it adds to the feel of the picture and just sort of fits in. xP

oh I know xD
I don't dislike the porch or anything, otherwise I wouldn't take so many pictures out there haha
but the new lens means shallower depth of field, which means the dirty old porch won't end up featured so prominently most of the time.
